WORLD NEWS: Kendrick Johnson Case Reopened

The U.S Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia announced that he is reopening the investigation into the death of Kendrick Johnson.

Family of Kendrick Johnson requested that the Federal Investigation of his case be reopened on October 10th 2019 is what would had been Kendricks 24th birthday.

Kendricks body was found January 11th, 2013 in a rolled up gym mat inside Lowndes County High School in Georgia. Lowndes County sheriff's investigators concluded that he died in a " freak accident " falling head first into a upright gym mat and becoming trapped while trying to retrieve his shoe and labeled this " accidential asphyxiation ". But video footage that was release to the investigative department from Lowndes County High School clearly show that the footage has been edited as and is not the original copy. Footage also do not show Johnson ever climbing into the mat to recover his shoe. On November 21st, 2013 CNN did a report on this exlusive investigation of Johnson's death. CNN hired a team of Certified Forensic Video Analyst to analyze the video footages released from Lowndes County High School to the investigators department. Let's take a look at thier findings.

Marcus Coleman, founder of Save Ourselves, and a representative of the family stated in a news conference early in October 2019 " Some reasons why we're calling for the reopening on the federal level is because of the unethical behavior to put it lightly on behalf of the federal government."

The family disclosed important details related to the closing of the investigation in 2016 and also presented new information regarding Kendrick Johnson missing organs which was found missing when the Johnson family had Kendrick's body exhumed, sent to Florida, and examined for a second autopsy by a Pathologist hired by the family. During that autopsy Pathologist " Dr. Bill Anderson" found Kendricks body stuffed with newspaper. He also found evidence that Kendrick Johnson died of the result of a blow to the neck near his carotid artery and not accidental asphyxia as stated before in the preliminary investigation and autopsy conclusion. The fatal blow also appeared to be NON-ACCIDENTAL.

Since the closing of the investigation the Johnson family has exhumed their childs remains again and has performed a third autopsy. This third autopsy confirms the same thing the second one confirmed which was Kendrick Johnson in fact died from a blow to the neck which conflicts the first autopsy again.

The U.S Attorney for the Middle District of Georgia announced Thursday October 31st at 1pm that he is reopening the investigation into the death of Kendirck Johnson. Michael Moore, Federal Prosecutor said that he will conduct a formal review of Johnson's death with the help of the FBI. He also stated that his office had been engaged in obtaining and reviewing ALL evidence related to the case for several months and the efforts to review the case are still ongoing. Moore said that the deision was made to reopen the case after he personally reviewed all relevant police documents and spoke to individuals involved in the investigation.

"My objective is to discover the truth and I believe that can only be done by gathering ALL the evidence and relevent information surrounding Johnson's death. At this time, what we need are people with facts and knowledge of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Johnson's death, " Moore stated.

High profile attorney who also represented Trayvon Martin's family, Benjamin Crump told CBS News Crimesider on Wednesday that the case is a " real life murder mystery" and that " It defies all logic, rules of science and common sense that a 17 year old athlete would climb into a wrestling mat and get stuck trying to get a tennis shoe and stop breathing. What's more likely is that someone rolled him up in that mat." He also stated the fact that Johnson's organs were determined to be missing just adds to the mystery and that he has not received any explanation on what has happednd to the teens organs. " That's a part of the murder mystery too. The fact that his organs are missing, his clothes that had DNA and blood evidence are missing, his fingernails are missing. All of this missing and it just substantiates the belief tha this was not a accident."

Lawyer Benjamin Crump called the judges decision to release the video surveillance and other documents pertaining to the case a "MAJOR VICTORY." And he also expects the release of the surveillance video to show who was in the gymnasium at the time Kendrick Johnson was in there. Johnson's family stand by the beliefs that he was murdered by schoolmates and is calling for justice.
